The EcoTech Marine Vectra L2 Barb and Screen Kit is an essential plumbing accessory designed specifically for the Vectra L2 centrifugal return pump. It allows aquarium hobbyists to easily connect their pump to soft tubing, eliminating the need to glue rigid PVC pipes.

What is Included in the L2 Kit?
  • 1 x Intake Barb Fitting: Measures 1-1/2 inches for high-volume water intake.
  • 1 x Output Barb Fitting: Measures 1-1/4 inches for the return line.
  • 1 x Intake Screen: Slips directly onto the intake side to keep out debris. 
Typical Configurations
Depending on your aquarium setup, you can configure the kit in multiple ways:
  • Standard In-Sump Setup: Most users utilize just the intake screen and the output barb fitting to pump water back to the display tank.
  • External or Closed Loop Setup: Utilize both the intake and output barb fittings to run flexible vinyl hoses completely outside of the sump.
Quick Installation Guide
Installation takes only a few seconds and requires no tools:
  1. Unscrew the native collar lock on your Vectra L2 pump.
  2. Crucial Step: Remove the internal red O-ring if you are installing the intake screen.
  3. Place your preferred barb fitting or screen into the housing.
  4. Thread the collar back on clockwise until it is hand-snug.
