The AquaIllumination (AI) Axis 90 is a compact, smart-controllable DC centrifugal return pump engineered for freshwater and marine aquariums up to 90 gallons. It is highly favored by reef hobbyists for its space-saving vertical orientation, which easily drops into tight sump spaces or All-In-One (AIO) filter chambers.

Maintenance Tips
To clean the pump, unplug the power and pull the unit out of your sump. Unsnap the low-profile bottom guard tabs, remove the internal impeller cover, and slide out the magnetic rotor assembly. Soak the parts in a safe aquarium citric acid solution to dissolve calcium buildup. When reassembling, ensure the ceramic bearing’s smooth side faces the rubber gasket and the notched side faces the impeller.
