Every piece of equipment incorporated into the MAX NANO G2 systems is
REEF-SPEC – which is the criteria that represents the ideal conditions required in an aquarium for sustaining coral health and optimizing coral growth, based on Red Sea’s 30 years of research on the needs of corals in artificial environments.
REEF-SPEC Lighting
Our long term research into the photobiological needs of corals in artificial environments has led to the REEF-SPEC lighting criteria, which is the basis for the lighting configurations used in all Red Sea aquarium systems.
REEF-SPEC Filtration
The heart of the MAX NANO G2 filtration system is the MAX NANO protein skimmer, which removes the vast majority of the waste produced by the aquarium inhabitants, as well as thoroughly oxygenating the water.
REEF-SPEC Circulation
MAX NANO G2 systems provide REEF-SPEC water flow, which is crucial for providing corals and other sessile invertebrates with the nutrients and minerals necessary for growth.
1. Surface skimmer
The surface skimmer enables highly effective filtration by ensuring that only water from the aquarium surface is passed to the rear filtration compartment. The surface skimmer is easily removable for periodic cleaning.
2. Pump power center
The MAX NANO G2 models have a built-in power center with conveniently located on/off switches for the skimmer and circulation pumps, enabling easy access for feeding and maintenance. *The MAX NANO G2 XXL comes with 2 power centers.
3. ReefLED lighting
The MAX NANO G2 models incorporate Red Sea’s ReefLED 50 light, with a light intensity and spectrum that is 100% utilized by the corals, ensuring optimal coral growth and coloration. In addition, the ReefLED 50 has a Moonlight channel to provide low levels of light for reef-safe nighttime viewing. *The MAX NANO G2 XXL comes with 2 light units.
4. Automatic top-off
An automatic top-off unit with a freshwater reservoir is hidden behind the screen above the sump and maintains a constant water level. It contains 1.5 L / 0.4 gal in the Cube and Peninsula, and 2.7 L / 0.7 gal in the XL, which is sufficient for approximately 2-3 days of evaporation. *Not included in the MAX NANO G2 XXL
5. Rotatable rear sump screen
The rotatable screen allows easy access to the rear filtration compartment sump, while ensuring that the aquarium’s aesthetics are undistubed.
6. Ultra clear glass
The MAX NANO G2 models have a rimless design and are made from ultra clear glass, which provides a superb viewing experience.
7. Micron filter bag
The 225 micron filter bag removes large waste particles from the water.
8. Protein skimmer
The heart of the filtration system is the MAX NANO protein skimmer, that efficiently removes organic waste from the water.
9. Multidirectional eyeball nozzle
The filtered water returns to the display tank via a multidirectional, adjustable eyeball nozzle, ensuring there are no stagnant spots within the aquarium.
10. Dedicated media chamber
The rear sump includes a media chamber for chemical filtration, such as Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC carbon.
11. Bubble trap sponge
The bubble trap sponge prevents air bubbles from returning to the aquarium.
12. Circulation pump
The MAX NANO REEF-SPEC circulation system has a 950 lph Sicce return pump for the Cube and Peninsula, a 1550 lph Sicce return pump for the XL, and 2 1550 lph Sicce return pumps for the XXL. The pumps circulate their tank’s entire water volume about 10 times an hour.
13. Optional marine-spec cabinet
The MAX NANO G2s are available with an optional marine-spec laminate cabinet fronted with weatherproof epoxy painted doors, convenient push openers and soft close stainless steel hinges. MAX NANO G2 cabinets are offered with black or white exteriors.
14. Carbon
The MAX NANO G2 models are supplied with 100 grams of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC Carbon, enough to maintain crystal clear water for the first 2 months.
15. NanoMat-ready
The NanoMat provides you with enhanced mechanical filtration, thanks to an auto-advance fleece-roll mechanism that keeps your tank water crystal clear. * Optional add-on, purchased separately.
6. ReefATO+ ready
The ReefATO+ provides you with an extremely reliable auto top-off system and a highly accurate temperature monitor and leak detector. * Optional add-on, purchased separately.
